Stepping Out in Atlanta

Summer time in Atlanta is filled with numerous events to attend and a variety of places to go. At times it can be overwhelming, but lucky for us there are also numerous publications that give us all the information we need to fill our summer schedules.

This month’s Jezebel and Simply Buckhead are filled with ideas for the rest of the summer. Since these are the places to be and to be seen, make sure that you are seen in great outfits.

Get Outdoors

11th Annual Decatur BBQ Blues & Bluegrass Festival- August 20th

A great event for the family to enjoy BBQ and music. All proceeds go directly back to the Decatur community. You want to make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes to be able to see all the festival has to offer and the Steve sandal from Camper will offer you that great comfort.

Piedmont Park Arts Fest- August 20- 21st

This art festival- held at Piedmont Park in Midtown- is filled with visual arts and open for everyone to enjoy. The Iron sandal from Cydwoq is perfect to show off your artsy side and you’ll need a matching bag. Nothing too big so that you can get around the grounds easily.

Nights Out

Starfish Atlanta Sushi Restaurant

Opened in 2006 in Buckhead, Starfish has provided fresh sushi and a long list of wine and sake. A perfect spot for a date night. Switch for the Italian brand IXOS is the perfect shoe- it’s edgy and unique and the bow around the ankle provides a flirty touch.

Nava

There is nothing like a great drink after a hard days work. Nava (also located in Buckhead) offers a great indoor and outdoor atmoshpere to help you relax. IXOS once again provides an edgy pump that will easily take you from work to happy hour in style.

Sunday Funday

Park Tavern Unplugged in the Park

Every Sunday evening during the summer, Park Tavern hosts Unplugged in the Park- a free music series. Spend the evening listening to great music, enjoying their menu, and enjoying the view of Atlanta. Cool and comfortable is the way to go. The Flirt tank from Laurie B. along with the Thyme wedge from Lili Mill is the perfect combination.

Corner Café

Brunch with family and friends is always a good way to end the weekend. Corner Cafe in Buckhead is a European-style bakery that offers not only fresh baked pastries, but also a full menu. The casuel and stylish Keira from Coclico will provide you will a topic of conversation next to your dessert. Make sure to carry the Southampton bag from Cowboys in case brunch is followed by some afternoon shopping.

Fashion Show- Yes Please!

vitaminwater Fashion Show- July 26 (7 p.m.) at Whiskey Blue

Eight local designers will showcase their looks inspired from colors of the delicious vitaminwater flavors. We all know the color palettes are fantastic, so you know the outfits will be as well. Don’t miss out on this chic fashion show and don’t miss out on the chance to show off your style in the Dozer wedge from IXOS. Say it with me- these shoes are hot! 1) Item Information.

  This is Hava from Bernardo shoes ($169).

2) Why I chose it.

  It’s a light weight summer wedge- just enough of a platform, but not to high. The  leather is very soft and it’s a great versatile color.

3) How and where to wear.

  Since this wedge is so lightweight and given the color, it can be worn with any  many outfits. Dresses, jeans, shorts- it will match perfectly.

RB’s Pick

1) Item Information.

Trinity from IXOS ($378).

2) Why I chose it.

The IXOS Trinity is classic and very fashion forward. Fresh, original style straight from Italy.

3) How and where to wear.

I recommend wearing this style with a black dress, leggings, maybe even a floral

chiffon dress.
